Overview

As a Geotechnical Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants Inc. (CEC), you'll be responsible for geotechnical subsurface investigations related to civil engineering design (e.g., building foundations, slope stability, retaining walls, ground improvements, and pavements) and waste/landfill projects, as well as construction materials testing services.

You will coordinate or monitor subsurface drilling, obtain soil and rock samples, prepare boring logs, develop laboratory testing programs, interpret laboratory data, perform geotechnical analyses, and prepare detailed geotechnical reports. Projects will primarily be for commercial, retail, institutional, energy, industrial, and solid/municipal waste clients. This position will have a balance of both field and office work.

Applicants will have an option to sit in either our Raynham, MA or Peabody, MA office locations.

Qualifications
    B.S. in Civil Engineering, specializing in Geotechnical Engineering (M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering preferred).
  • 3-6 years of consulting Geotechnical Engineering experience.
  • Experience with geotechnical computer software including OpenGround, SLIDE2, SETTLE3, ProShake, and LPILE preferred.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with the desire to learn quickly and succeed professionally.
  • E.I.T preferred
